Bullying has made a big impact on society and needs to change. This article is about how bully is affecting others and how they are trying to make prevent that from happening. They started a No One Eats Alone campaign so that everyone gets to make new friends and won’t have to sit alone while eating. A girl with cranial facial syndrome was alone but wanted friends to eat with.“She would call me almost daily, ‘Mom, I have nobody to eat with, and the girls don’t want me to sit with them,’” Talmus said, who said her daughter would finish her lunch and call her from the restroom crying. “Lili was never teased or bullied, but was almost suffering as much because she felt invisible.”

In the novel, Stargirl, who was different from others and and didn’t care what others thought was bullied and teased because of her unique personality. People are easily judged by others for what they see but they can’t see the good qualities in people. In the article, Lil Talmus had to sit alone because of her difference from others who was judged by her peers. The article states,“She would call me almost daily, ‘Mom, I have nobody to eat with, and the girls don’t want me to sit with them,’” Talmus said. Most people are too quick to judge and don’t see what people need based on their appearance or uniqueness.
How does this issue relate to your own life (4-5 sentences)?
In RKMS, there is a division of 7th graders and some friends are separated because of it. This is a chance for kids that are alone to make new friends. I have not have been bullied myself but I can see people that want to be in different lunch period or in different homerooms. Kids being alone is probably because of bullies that convince others that they are wierd. Bullying can be hurtful, but it is also a learning experience to know to help get kids further in life as well as helping me grow as a person.
