Planetary Debate
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This assignment was to give concrete evidence about the assigned planet and give opinions debating about why life best sustains life in the given planet. I was given the planet Neptune and I had to debate with Mars to show that it will sustain life. This assignment shows that I understand how to debate and come up with a claim and back it up with evidence.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 Science & Engineering Practice you feel you met/gained from completing this project.
I learned how to debate with a team and how to work with them as well. Not only that, I learned to share opinions and find evidence to back up the claim. We were able to find data researching in textbooks, online, etc. I felt that learning this helped me learn many other skills as well.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/experience and/or score, what is ONE SEP you could have done better on? How will improving in this SEP benefit future work/projects?
I could have done better on finding more evidence and data that was very solid. I could have researched more and sometimes my team would not communicate well and we would take up time to explain why our planet sustains life. Improving on this mistake will help me back up any claim with solid evidence that the opposing team would not be able to fire back.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real-world, outside of the classroom? Make connections between the content and your life.
I can apply the skills I learned in the real life because I learned how to communicate well with others and learned to back up my claim. I would be able to explain why my claim is correct and back it up with good evidence. Also, learning to communicate well with others will get me far in the future because you need good communication skills with others to help you to different points in life. These skills are very essential and these build up to prove later on that I am not wasting my time doing little projects but learning little by little.
