Cheerios project
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
Standard 3e. I know the structure of solids, liquids, and gases. I know that solids are closely packed molecules that vibrate in place. Liquid molecules are more loosely packed and can roam freely colliding. Gas molecules are very free and collide frequently. This assignment meets the standard because I am able to demonstrate mastery by placing the cheerios the correct way depending on solids, liquids, or gases.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 Science & Engineering Practices you feel you met/gained from completing this project.
I feel I developed the ability to understand more about the different states of matter. I learned that different states of matter have different molecular structures. Not only that, I am able to place them with cheerios and represent them the way I can depending on their state of matter.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE SEP/or area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this SEP/area benefit future work/projects?
I could have done better on finding more details of each of the states of matter. I felt I could he improved on finding more advanced and better details for the states of matter. Improving skills like these will definitely come in handy. In the future, I can replace my basic data for more advance details that will get me farther in the future.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real-world, outside of the classroom? Make connections between the content and your life
These skills are very important in knowing everyday life things. Everyday, people see and touch states of matter almost everyday all the time. Knowing this, I am able to relate things to the states of matter like when I freeze water and the molecular structure from a liquid to a solid changes.
