Scientific Notation Project
1. Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
This assignment relates to the standard because I accurately used scientific notations to explain the population of my country, Scotland. I also compared it to the population of the United States and found out how much bigger it was (in scientific notation) than Scotland.
2. What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps I took to complete this assignment was filling out a worksheet that will later be used to do the poster. It was a like a draft. Then, I made the poster looking at the worksheet and wrote down the information according to the worksheet. Then, I drew pictures to represent my country and make it look more appealing. Finally, I glued the worksheet to the back of the poster.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths…
On this assignment, I feel I was able to use scientific notations more comfortably and efficiently than before. Also, I was able to use it in different various ways like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Finally, I was able to solve a word problem situation.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by …
I could have improved on showing my work like I was actually doing it. This is because I did my work on paper and I simplified it. Also, I erased frequently and started over because it was not right. Next time I will be able to do them more quickly without having to start over with mistakes. This will help me make less mistakes from now on and learn from myself and my mistakes.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I will use these skills to improve my skill and abilities for future uses. Not only did I learn a math content, I learned how to think for myself and figure out problems on my own. This will help me develop as a person and in the future when I will need it.
