13 colonies brochure
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This standard relates to this assignment because I researched and put in the data that I've collected and used the information in the brochure. I understood the colony's lifestyle as well as other things with research. Also, I included the history behind my colony and explained what happened and what it was about.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
I feel I gained or strengthen my ability to research about topic and not lose the main idea of the topic. By using the resources around me like the text books provided, people around me, and my notes, I felt I was better prepared for this brochure and I can use this important skill in life as well. Being prepared is better than being not prepared and procrastinating.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
Although I did my best, there were many room for improvement. I could have used a ruler to straighten out the information I put with a ruler to make it look more professional. Also, I could have planned ahead where I could have put my pictures and information so it doesn't look all piled up and messy for the reader. This would definitely help me greatly in the future by planning ahead and managing my time so everything I do stays organized.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society) Make connections between the content and your life.
This assignment improved on my ability to manage time, organize, and use the resources around me. Using these skills will be essential for life outside of school. I have had a problem of procrastination and liked to do everything at the last second. However on this assignment, I felt I had enough time to do all the things I could to get a good enough score. Most people do not plan ahead and that's why they cannot organize what to do and ultimately fail.
