Farewell to Manzanar Magazine
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This assignment relates to the standard because I used relevant data from the novel "Farewell to Manzanar" and used information from this book to the magazine. Also, i used ACE where I answered the question, cited the evidence, and explained it. I used information from the book without copying the exact words besides quoting.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
On this assignment, I feel I am able to use ACE more better and am more comfortable with finding evidence from a novel. This can help in argumentative essays where there are two opposing sides argue for what they think is right. I am able to pluck out details from the book and use it as information for my magazine.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
I could have worked on putting in more effort and showing more data. I could have drafted my writing before I put it in the magazine so I have a fewer chance of making mistakes. Working on my mistakes will help me in the future because I will find my weaknesses and make a way to help that weakness.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society) Make connections between the content and your life.
I will apply the skills I learned to the real world by finding out my mistakes and trying to fix them the best I can. Most people procrastinate which is a major weakness. However, as long as I know what to do, I won't do it again. This assignment consisted of persistence and patience because it was difficult to find the information. After I found the answer, it was much easier to accomplish.
